Digital Film Archive Fund - Monitoring and Evaluation

SPI was hired by the UK Film Council in 2008 as the monitoring and evaluation partner of its £3 million Digital Film Archive Fund, The DFAF fund represents a stream of National Lottery funding, operated by the UK Film Council. A New Business Model for UK Film

SPI wrote a much-discussed report for UK producers’ body PACT, spelling out ways that independent producers could build sustainable businesses. The proposals suggest a future in which producers can use public funds in a more entrepreneurial way, with greater control of their own IP and the potential to reinvest revenues from successful films in creating growth.

Second Light Evaluation

First Light administers a talent development scheme for young BME audiences, entitled “Second Light”. The scheme is aimed at supporting and providing training opportunities to 30 young people from BME backgrounds, to enable them to pursue successful careers in the film industry. SPI was commissioned in late 2009 to conduct an evaluation of the scheme.
