SPI has been commissioned by the Maine Film Office — a division within the Office of Tourism at the Maine Department of Economic and Community Development (DECD) — to undertake an in-depth analysis of the state’s current film production capacity, its strengths, weaknesses, constraints and capacity gaps in key areas of production, as well as opportunities for future growth.

SPI will be conducting a thorough analysis of Maine’s existing production industry infrastructure and resources to provide a detailed assessment of the challenges the state currently faces. This assessment will also identify opportunities to increase current levels of production, and ways to attract and service more and bigger productions to the state.

Further information on the study can be found here.

If you would like to hear more about this study, please contact Karen Carberry Warhola at the Maine Film Office on karen.carberrywarhola@maine.gov.
