SPI to Undertake Key Study into the Mid-West Region of Ireland’s Production Sector

Foundation (2021) at Troy Studios, Limerick

Olsberg•SPI (SPI) has been commissioned by Innovate Limerick/Film in Limerick to undertake an in-depth analysis of the Mid-West region of Ireland’s current film production capacity. This study will look at the region’s strengths, weaknesses, constraints and capacity gaps in key areas of production, as well as opportunities for future growth.

SPI will be conducting a thorough analysis of the Mid-West’s existing production industry infrastructure and resources. This will provide a detailed assessment of the challenges faced in the region, as well as identify opportunities to increase current levels of production and establish the Mid-West as a screen production hub.

Further, the study will include a comprehensive assessment of the current training provision in the region and the suitability of this training to address capacity in the Mid-West region’s screen sector.

With the establishment of Troy Studios and the National Talent Academy for Film and Television Crew South in Limerick, it is an opportune time to analyse the Mid-West region’s assets and performance. The results of which can be leveraged to create a holistic, sustainable growth plan for the future.
