Key Findings of Best Practice in Screen Sector Development Study Available in 11 Languages

Following the launch of the full Best Practice in Screen Sector Development report in September, the key findings from the report are now available in a highly-visual summary report, translated into 10 languages. This includes: Arabic, Bahasa Indonesian, French, Korean, Japanese, Malay, Mandarin, Portuguese, Spanish, and Thai. 

The key findings document summarises important considerations, key areas of best practice and ineffective practices from the report’s seven research areas:

• Production Incentives

• Workforce Capacity

• Infrastructure

• Film-friendliness

• Diversity, Equity and Inclusion

• Sustainability

• Partner Engagement

Four case studies are also included from the full report to provide real-world illustrations of the strategies that have achieved success.  

A summary of the report's key findings were presented by SPI’s Managing Director Leon Forde at the Global Film Commission Network Summit at Marché du Film – Festival De Cannes earlier this year, with the English-language edition of the key findings summary report published following the event. 

The key findings summary report, along with the full report, serve as a free playbook for governments and sector partners, providing actionable insights based on Olsberg•SPI’s unparalleled global expertise. 

The Best Practice in Screen Sector Development report was produced in partnership with the Association of Film Commissioners International (AFCI) and is an update to the original  Best Practice in Screen Sector Development report published in 2019. The project was undertaken with financial support from Netflix.
