SPI Latin America Associate Speaks at Rio de Janeiro International Film Festival.

On Monday the 9th October 2023 OlsbergSPI (“SPI”) Associate to Latin America, Steve Solot participated in two panel discussions in the RioMarket segment at the Rio de Janeiro International Film Festival.

The first event,"The Importance of the Film Commission for Promotion of a City or Country - Production Incentives as a Tool for Tourism Development" examined the fundamental role of film commissions in promoting locations for audio-visual production, how production incentives can boost tourism and economic development, and the impact of film and television as marketing tools for cities and countries.

The second,"The Importance of Training BTL Crews for the Brazilian Audiovisual Industry explored the findings from an SPI survey commissioned by the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), which found 58% of respondents believe that there are not enough technical personnel in Latin America. The panel discussed how to address the skills deficit to meet the demand for audio visual content production.
