SPI's Executives Quoted in Screen Daily

OlsbergSPI’s (SPI) Executive Chair, Jonathan Olsberg and Managing Director, Leon Forde were both discussed in separate Screen Daily articles regarding their participation at the Saudi Film Confex.

Jonathan participated on the panel, The Growth of International Content and Potential Investments at the Saudi Film Confex and was quoted in the Screen Daily article discussing the steps Saudi Arabia is taking to enhance its position in the global screen sector. Jonathan stated the country had “demonstrated substantial ambition and determination to become a global player in a very fast-paced way,” pointing to the “very sensible, focused and well-supported strategies” that have been put in place by the Saudi Film Commission, Ministry of Culture and regional bodies Film AlUla and NEOM. 

Leon moderated the panel How A.I. Revolution and Technology are Shaping Filmmaking. Leon was quoted in a separate Screen Daily article regarding the legislation around intellectual property of AI images, “whilst some studios are making deals with AI companies to develop a proprietary tool [Lionsgate teaming up with AI research company being one example], regulatory IP policies haven’t been developed and implemented and in the meantime the industry is trying to use these tools. It is still a very early space and there is still some risk.”
