Screen sector consulting firm Olsberg•SPI (“SPI”) is looking for a Research Analyst to join our London-based team.

This role is client-facing and involves working across SPI’s broad portfolio of projects in the exciting global film, tv and video games sectors. The role will involve project coordination and general research/consultancy tasks. Start date ASAP.

Role Overview

The Research Analyst will work across the range of SPI’s projects and play a key team role in undertaking high-quality quantitative and qualitative research and supporting projects. Working to SPI’s Project Managers, the Research Analyst will also contribute to writing reports, presentations, and proposals.  The Research Analyst could also support Project Managers as a project coordinator with logistical tasks such as scheduling meetings, organising project files, planning market visits and more.

General Roles and Responsibilities

Key tasks will differ across projects, but would typically include:

  • Leading or supporting on secondary desk research, including the detailed review of past reports, articles and other types of secondary data sources relevant to the project

  • Support the gathering of primary research data through:

    • Consultations – Arranging meetings; developing appropriate tools for effective data gathering; developing consultation lists and topic guides; supporting and leading some consultations; taking detailed notes and writing up findings

    • Surveys – Contributing to formulating questions; building, distributing and maintaining the survey, including troubleshooting; contributing to analysis where relevant, and ensuring the results and analysis are incorporated into the report

  • Conducting basic quantitative and qualitative analysis of data gathered via primary and secondary research, including analysis of datasets in Microsoft Excel (cleaning data, running pivot table analysis) and creating highly visual charts and tables in SPI’s style

  • Writing sections of presentations and documents to a high standard of accuracy

  • Contribute to assessing, researching and writing proposals, where relevant

  • Joining internal and external project meetings with SPI’s international client base

  • Taking notes on discussions and action points at project meetings, where required

Role Details

  • Permanent full-time basis

  • The role will be based on-site at SPI’s central London office, with some possibility for flexible working

  • Competitive salary dependent on experience and expertise

  • 20-days holiday pro rata (in addition to office closure during the Christmas period and bank holidays).
