Winners of Global Production Awards 2024 Announced at Cannes

Earlier this week (21st May), Olsberg SPI (SPI) celebrated the 2nd edition of the Global Production Awards in Cannes.

Organised by Screen International, with SPI as a partner, the Global Production Awards acknowledge the unsung heroes of the international screen production sector - shining a light on the outstanding initiatives and stand-out work from film and television production companies, locations, industry bodies and studios.


The packed event awarded a range of categories, including important acknowledgements for sustainability productions and initiatives, community impact, diversity and inclusion, production innovation, emerging locations, film commission team, to name a few.

The winners were:

  • City Of Film - Bristol (UK)

  • Community Impact Award - Fresh Film (Ireland)

  • Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Award - Blood and Water, by Gambit Films (South Africa)

  • Emerging Location Award - Film AlUla (Saudi Arabia)

  • Film Commission Award - Film AlUla (Saudi Arabia)

  • Location of the Year Award - Juvet Landscape Hotel (Norway) - Western Norway Film Commission

  • Outstanding Use of Locations - Troll (Norway) - Norwegian Film Commission

  • Physical Production Innovation Award - CAMA AssetCycle: Innovating Circularity - CAMA AssetStore (UK)

  • Studio of the Year - Sunset Studios (US)

  • Sustainability Initiative Award - Ecology - Provence Studios (France)

  • Sustainable Production Award (Scripted) - True Detective: Night Country, Warner Bros. Discovery & HBO (US)

  • Sustainable Production Award (Unscripted) - A League of Their Own, CPL, Picture Zero & Sky (UK)

  • Virtual Production Innovation Award - Oracle Red Bull Racing Campaign, Final Pixel, XPLOR / Production Park
    (UK)

  • Special Recognition Award - BAFTA albert.
