Sreyoshi joined SPI in 2022 after completing her MSc in Creative Industries & Cultural Policy at the University of Glasgow.
As a Research Analyst, Sreyoshi works across a range of SPI projects. Key projects currently include a Production and Infrastructure Capacity Analysis for the State of North Carolina, an economic impact study for a proposed federal incentive in Brazil, as well as a sector mapping study of the indigenous film industry across the Canadian Arctic. She also works on providing monthly guidance on screen production for an international streamer.
Other projects have included a skills scoping study for the animation, post-production, video games, visual effects and emerging tech sectors commissioned by the British Film Institute, and a workforce strategy for the city of Bristol
Prior to joining SPI, Sreyoshi worked as a media and entertainment lawyer in India for three years. During this time, she advised a range of creative industry stakeholders on law and policy issues. Through her work as a lawyer, Sreyoshi developed expertise in secondary and qualitative research in relation to the creative industries, alongside other relevant subject matter expertise such as copyright law and policy.
Other research projects she has led and worked on include a qualitative research project for a leading Indian law school, that uncovered the ways in which law school curricula may be redesigned to keep up with changes brought on by technology; and her masters dissertation, which used a mix of methods such as elite interviewing and document analysis to study how Scotland’s cultural policy and governance frameworks treat Scotland’s traditional music.
Outside of work, Sreyoshi is passionate about working towards making the creative and cultural sector fairer for all stakeholders.
