Strategic Roadmap for the Philippine Screen Sector

Client: Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP)

Location: Phillippines

SPI in collaboration with the FDCP will develop a strategic roadmap for the future of the film industry in the Philippines.

The roadmap will underpin the FDCP’s main priorities of strengthening the country’s domestic film industry and expanding the potential to attract more international productions. The collaboration will involve a series of workshops between SPI and FDCP executives and the wider team to shape the strategic roadmap, tailored to the needs of the local industry.

The strategic roadmap partnership will have five key elements:

  1. A mapping of the Philippine film industry, including both domestic and inward international production, using available data, and collating data through primary research

  2. A SWOT assessment of the Philippine film industry, covering both domestic and inward international considerations

  3. Benchmarking the Philippines’ film industry with other markets, providing examples of best practice and lessons for the roadmap, including the potential of the Philippines to compete globally as an attractive location

  4. An assessment of the FDCP and its capacity to manage the growth of the sector

  5. Recommended actions to drive future and sustainable growth in the Philippines’ film industry over the next five to 10 years.

Finalised in 2025, the roadmap will set specific goals to address industry challenges and outline the Philippine film industry's strategic direction for the next 5–10 years.
