SPI to Undertake New Economic Impact Study in Utah

The Motion Picture Association of Utah (MPAU) and the Utah Film Commission have commissioned SPI to undertake an economic impact evaluation of the state’s film incentives.

For the evaluation, SPI will undertake a multi-year analysis of the incentives — including an examination of their direct, indirect and induced economic effects.

The wider value of production in Utah – including non-economic impacts – will also be considered.

The MPAU serves the film, video, interactive, and digital media production industry and provides an opportunity for both Utah film professionals, businesses and enthusiasts alike to come together as a single organisation.

Formed in 1974, the Utah Film Commission is part of the Utah Governor’s Office of Economic Opportunity under the Utah Office of Tourism and Film and is a member of the Association of Film Commissioners International.
