Global Production Awards Judges Announced as Entry Deadline Approaches

Screen International’s Global Production Awards, which OlsbergSPI (SPI) is a supporting partner, has announced its expert 2025 jury.

The judging panel, which SPI helped recruit, include executives from HBO, A24, NBCUniversal and Amazon Studios.

The Global Production Awards, now in its third year, is open to all organisations and companies working in the film and television industry, including studios, production companies, film commissions, locations, suppliers and manufacturers and any services involved in film and television production.

The application deadline is 7th March 2025.

This year, there will be 12 categories, across sustainability, impact, innovation, studio developments and outstanding locations. This includes a new Impact Leadership Award.

The expert jury includes:

  • Annee Puolanne­ – Sustainability Manager, Audiovisual Producers Finland APFI (Finland)

  • Christos Konstantakopoulos – Producer, Writer & Founder, Faliro House Productions (Greece)

  • Dominique Unsworth – Producer, Creative Sector Skills Specialist & Social Entrepreneur, Resource Productions (UK)

  • Jay Roewe – Senior Vice President, HBO (US)

  • JJ Cho – Busan Film Commission/AFCNet (Korea)

  • John Rakich – Supervising Location Manager, Location Managers Guild International (Canada)

  • Jose Javier Reyes – Chair, Film Development Council of the Philippines (Philippines)

  • Joy Loewen – VP, Growth and Inclusion, Canada Media Fund (Canada)

  • Khaled Gad – CEO, IE7 Group (UK)

  • Lisa Mini – Principal Film Officer, City of Cape Town (South Africa)

  • Melissa Heuer – Economic Development Policy , Amazon Studios (UK/US)

  • Monica Rorvik – Head of Trade in Services, WESGRO (South Africa)

  • Nicholas Simon – Founder & CEO, Indochina Productions (Thailand)

  • Stuart Sutherland – Producer, Celtic Films (Turkey/KSA)

  • Susan Kirby – CEO, Screen Producers Ireland (Ireland)

  • Tshepiso Chikapa-Phiri – CEO & Founder, Known Associates Entertainment (South Africa)

  • Valerie Guerette-Langlais – Head of Production Tax & Incentives, A24 (US)

  • Veronica Sullivan – Senior Vice President, Head of Global Production External Affairs & State & Local Government, NBCUniversal (US)

  • Yolanda Brinkley – Founder & CEO, Diversity in Cannes (US).

SPI Executive Chair Jonathan Olsberg and SPI CEO Leon Forde will co-chair the judging.

The winners will be announced at an awards ceremony at the Cannes Film Festival on the 19th May 2025.
