Marta Moretto

Marta Moretto is researcher, analyst, and research manager specialising in policy, strategy and analysis for the cultural and creative industries.  

Marta has particular expertise in public policy for the cultural and creative industries. She has previously conducted studies for UNESCO, the UK Department of Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS), UK Research & Innovation (UKRI), and the European Commission (DC EAC and DG CNECT). With SPI, Marta has recently led studies quantifying the economic impacts of film and television production incentives for the Ministry of Culture and Business Affairs in Iceland and Spain Film Commission. Marta is currently working with Sèmè City, the government’s flagship innovation hub in the Republic of Benin, to undertake a comprehensive study that will provide recommendations for the development of the screen industries in the country. Marta is also leading SPI’s work on the UK national R&D project CoSTAR (Convergent Screen Technologies and Performance in Realtime) supporting technological advancement in the film, television, performance, and games sectors.  

Before SPI, Marta worked as a consultant and researcher at Ecorys, BOP Consulting, and BAM! Strategie Culturali.  

Marta studied Italian literature and art history and holds a master’s degree in Innovation for the Cultural and Creative Industries from Bologna University School of Economics and Statistics and Copenhagen Business School.
